Jim Trull is a lifelong resident of North Carolina having spent his childhood in Winston-Salem, and the past 30 years in the Raleigh area. He and his wife, Sandy, currently reside in Apex, North Carolina, with their sons, Andrew and Nathan, and their dog, Buddy, who is named after the great blues guitarist, Buddy Guy. In his leisure, Jim enjoys playing golf with his son, Nathan. He is a member of Prestonwood Country Club and Jim's dream is to one day play Augusta National, the home of the Masters. Jim loves listening to all types of music, from southern rock to blues. Some of his favorite artists are Lynyrd Skynyrd, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Eagles, and Delbert McClinton.
Jim is an avid North Carolina State Wolfpack fan and supporter. He enjoys tailgating each fall with 20 to 30 of his Wolfpack friends during football season, and attending games during basketball season. When he is not reading financial journals, Jim enjoys reading about the Civil War and biographies about America's great leaders. As a member of the Apex Band Boosters, Jim can be found in the fall with his family helping the Apex High School Marching Band pit crew at Apex football games and marching band competitions.

Active in his community, Jim attends Apex United Methodist Church. He is a member of the Cary Chamber of Commerce and is a past president of the Cary Central Rotary Club. Jim enjoys heading up the club's Needy Family project and serving on the scholarship committee. Jim is also past president of the Raleigh Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and is a past recipient of the organizations Advisor of the Year award.
As president and founder of Keystone Financial Partners, Jim is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC). A veteran of the financial services industry with more than 30 years of experience, he has demonstrated a consistent ability to help protect and grow the hard-earned assets of his clients, many whom have experienced major life changes including retirement, divorce, or the loss of a spouse.
Jim is a member of the prestigious Summit Study group. The Summit Study Group binds creative, innovative, hard-working, and growing financial service professionals together for semiannual productive meetings. The purpose is to provide mutual support and growth in an educational context where they can broaden their perspective of our industry and careers. Jim graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Management. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the Wake County Estate Planning Council, and is a life and qualifying member of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table. He is also the founder of the Senior Resource Alliance of the Triangle.
