Our History

Keystone Financial Partners is an investment firm that helps successful professionals, affluent retirees, and widows make smart financial decisions. Jim Trull, AIF®, CFP®, the president and founder of the firm, understands the needs of successful retirees, individuals approaching retirement and those experiencing a life transition. In addition, as the result of more than 20 research interviews, Jim has become innately in tune with the unique needs of the widow community. Much of the practice is devoted to serving the needs of widows and in preparing his married clients for the day when they are suddenly single.

Helping successful families with wealth management strategies has been Jim Trull’s pursuit for more than 30 years. After spending the first 15 years of his career with a large insurance firm, Jim decided to set out on his own and create the type of firm he knew was needed in this day of rushed and sometimes impersonal service. Jim employs a team who shares his outlook—to provide comfort to investors seeking help with their most important goals in a knowledgeable, courteous, and professional manner.

In 1995, the Financial Professionals of Keystone Financial Partners chose to partner with Commonwealth Financial Network, one of the preeminent independent broker/dealers in the United States. This alliance with Commonwealth ensures that clients receive a wide variety of independent investment choices to complement their goals. It also helps the company to best serve clients in a seamless and efficient manner by providing back office, investment, and technology support.

In 2017, Keystone Financial Partners expanded our offering to serve young professionals just starting out investing for their future, including retirement planning, college savings and goal setting. Wealth Wise is our young professional financial planning platform led by Chris Walsh, CFP®. Wealth Wise is designed to provide young professionals access to financial planning with flexible options, backed by the experience and expertise of Keystone Financial Partners. Learn more here.
